Marilyn S. Taylor lives in Ford’s Colony in the Powhatan District and has been a resident of James City County since December of 1999. Ms. Taylor received her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Masters degree in Social Work from Howard University. Her professional experience includes social work for public schools in New York and Connecticut for over thirty years before retiring in June 1999. Ms. Taylor brings to the Community Participation Team affiliations with Williamsburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc a national group of over 100,000 women who work in public service, and the Greater Williamsburg Women’s Association, a group dedicated to public service in the Williamsburg area. She is also a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church where she is active in activities of Presbyterian Women and a past moderator of that group. Ms. Taylor has also been a volunteer at Williamsburg Community Hospital. Ms. Taylor is married to Robert and they have one son and three grandchildren.
