Steering Committee (SC)

Purpose

The Steering Committee is the second of two groups charged with aiding staff in the development and review of the Comprehensive Plan.  The SC strives to blend the citizen comments collected by the Community Participation Team and staff’s research, statistics, and background reports on the various sections of the Plan to develop policies and create the actual Plan text.  Another important function of this Committee is that they review the applications of landowners who wish to change the land use designation on their properties.  The SC will also recommend the updated Plan to the Planning Commission towards the conclusion of the process.
